In recent years, the artificial intelligence (AI) industry has witnessed an influx of individuals from outside the tech sector establishing AI agencies, often with the goal of capitalizing on the perceived lucrative potential of this emerging field. Unfortunately, many of these newcomers lack a genuine understanding of AI and its applications, and instead rely on outdated marketing tactics and strategies.
These individuals, often affiliated with the affiliate marketing and pyramid scheme industries, are accustomed to using spammy tactics to promote their products and services. However, these methods are ineffective and even counterproductive in the AI industry, where technical expertise and a deep understanding of the technology are essential.
The problem is not that these individuals are incapable of learning or adapting to new technologies, but rather that they lack the necessary foundation in AI and its underlying principles. As a result, their efforts can lead to confusion, misinformation, and ultimately, a negative impact on the industry as a whole.
As AI professionals, it is our responsibility to uphold high standards and distinguish ourselves from those who are not genuinely committed to the industry. This is not about being elitist or excluding others, but rather about protecting consumers from the potential pitfalls of dealing with unqualified or unscrupulous individuals.
By setting a high bar for ourselves and our industry, we can ensure that consumers receive the best possible service and support, and that the AI industry is perceived as a trustworthy and reliable sector. This is particularly important in an era where AI is increasingly being integrated into various aspects of our lives, and where consumers are relying on us to provide accurate and reliable information.
Ultmately, our goal should be to promote a culture of excellence and integrity within the AI industry, and to ensure that our work is guided by a commitment to quality and client experience.
