This is not a gradual process, but a sudden, transformative event that will change the course of human history.

Kurzweil's predictions are not for the faint of heart. He envisions a future in which humans will live indefinitely, their bodies augmented by nanobots that repair and replace damaged cells. He sees a world in which technology will become so integrated with our biology that we will be able to think millions of times faster, and live in harmony with the machines that control us.
